A master's degree with six semesters experience teaching ASL courses at the college level including the use of technology for instructional and educational purposes. ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) 4 or higher. ASLTA (American Sign Language Teacher Association) Teacher Certification.

The American Sign Language Studies Program at the University of Connecticut Storrs, has two adjunct openings for Fall 2023:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An earned Master’s degree in HDFS, psychology, early childhood education, gerontology, social work, sociology, or a related field with some teaching experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
An earned Ph.D. or other terminal degree in an area relevant to the field; previous teaching experience of relevant courses.

The University of Connecticut is seeking applications for adjunct clinical faculty positions, with expertise in teaching fundamentals, behavioral health, maternal/newborn, child health, and/or advanced medical/surgical nursing. We have positions at our Storrs campus for our traditional 4‐year undergraduate program as well as our CEIN/BS program at our Storrs, Avery Point, Stamford, and Waterbury campuses.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Dean, the faculty member will be responsible to teach undergraduate courses; supervise pre‐licensure students in clinical work each semester; establish a practice site for nursing practice activities; assist with development of faculty practice plan; apprise each student of his or her clinical performance on a regular basis; conduct evaluation of individual students’ clinical performance via impromptu meetings and planned evaluation conferences; evaluate students’ written work; act as liaison to clinical agencies, and share clinical expectations and course syllabi with relevant agency staff; address and initiate action when required for student/agency issues that may arise; and participate in campus laboratory teaching experiences, as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Nursing; current Connecticut RN license; three years of practice experience in the relevant clinical area; completion of required health indicators (MMR titers, TB status, Hepatitis B and others as required by clinical agencies) and CPR at time of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Earned doctoral degree in Nursing; previous teaching experience in an institution of higher education; clinical nurse educator certification.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
These are adjunct faculty positions, which are generally appointed on a semester-by-semester basis. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
