Special Payroll Information

The University uses Special Payroll for certain types of short term, temporary, seasonal, and, part-time professional staffing needs. Temporary services typically involve less than six months of continuous employment. At UConn, Special Payroll is governed by two statutory sources: CGS10a-20 and CGS10a-108(a) governing the appointment of professional staff at the University. Compensation

Effective August 23, 2024, per AAUP Wage Reopener article 19.7, there is a new Adjunct Faculty per credit minimum rate, $2,062 per credit. For Adjuncts with more than two academic years (four semesters) of continuous employment, the minimum remuneration shall be a 2% increase rate. For Adjuncts with more than six academic years (twelve semesters) of continuous employment, the minimum remuneration shall be a 3% increase rate.

Effective August 23, 2024, per the GEU-UAW Contract Article 34, Section 5, the Graduate Student per credit minimum rate is $1,939 for Graduate Students in extra-compensatory instructional appointments.

Winter 2024/Summer 2025 Intersession Faculty Compensation

Per Article 38.1 of the AAUP contract, effective August 23, 2024, the following compensation information should be used for full-time faculty who teach credit bearing courses during summer or winter sessions:
