WHAT TO DO BEFORE ORIENTATION
As you prepare to begin for your new position at UConn, there are certain tasks that should be completed prior to, on or just after your first day.
Fill out Page 1 of the New Employee Forms Packet and bring the forms with you to orientation.
Read through the Retirement Election – On or Before First Day information.
NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION AGENDA
Friday Full-Day Program (Day 1)
New Employee Orientation typically begins on Friday morning with a full-day session (occasionally, Orientation will begin on a Monday following a Friday holiday). Human Resources introduces new employees to their benefits and retirement options. In addition, new employees have the opportunity to complete payroll paperwork (e.g., I-9, W-4, and direct deposit), acquire their parking pass, take a picture for their University ID, the Husky One Card, learn about Information Technology Services, and meet with a representative from their bargaining unit, if applicable.
As part of Day 1, new employees will tour the Storrs campus with a stop at the Dairy Bar!
Day 1 of New Employee Orientation takes place at Human Resources in the Brown Building (9 Walters Ave., Storrs) on the Depot Campus. New employees may park in the visitor spots or in the parking lots on either side of the building.

Monday Half-Day Program (Day 2)
The second day of New Employee Orientation typically occurs on the following Monday (Day 2 occasionally occurs on a Tuesday following a Monday holiday). At this half-day session, employees receive information and guidance from offices across the University, introducing new employees to the resources that will aid in their success while working at UConn. Employees will receive presentations from Human Resources, University Compliance, Institutional Equity, Public Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, and the University Ombuds.
Day 2 of New Employee Orientation takes place at the School of Business - Room 321 (2100 Hillside Road) on the Storrs Campus. A Storrs Campus parking map is available from the following website: Campus Maps. Select a parking lot that corresponds with the parking pass you purchased. If you do not have a parking pass, there are two parking garages on campus. The South Parking Garage is closest to the School of Business.

NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION SCHEDULE
Through New Employee Orientation, Human Resources collaborates with offices across the University to introduce new employees to the multifaceted aspects of UConn. New Employee Orientation also affords new employees the opportunity to learn about all that UConn has to offer for benefits and services. New employee orientation is mandatory for all UConn employees except Adjunct faculty who participate in an alternative on-line orientation program.
