New Employee Orientation

New Employee Orientation

The University of Connecticut is a vibrant workplace that values diverse viewpoints, inclusivity, and a healthy focus on all aspects of an employee’s work and life obligations. The University strives to support all of its employees with a smooth, engaging, and educational transition to working at UConn. We anticipate that your work and interactions with UConn students, faculty, and staff will be worthwhile and enjoyable.

As you begin your transition to work at UConn, Human Resources is here to provide you with information that will be helpful in preparing for your first day and weeks at work.

Through New Employee Orientation, Human Resources collaborates with offices across the University to introduce new employees to the multifaceted aspects of UConn. New Employee Orientation also affords new employees the opportunity to learn about all that UConn has to offer for benefits and services. New employee orientation is mandatory for all Regular Payroll UConn employees.

Faculty hired throughout the academic year attend New Employee Orientation on their date of hire, as well as a New Faculty Orientation in August. More faculty orientation information can be found on the Provost's website. Please also review the information in the “what to do before orientation” and “items to complete/provide” sections below.

Adjunct faculty, Instructional Specialists & Special Payroll Lecturers participate in an alternative on-line orientation program. Other Special Payroll employees attend orientation with their hiring department.
