The State of Connecticut offers UConn employees and their families a choice of medical plan with little or no cost each time you receive care from providers in the nationwide network of Blue Cross Blue shield or Oxford/United Healthcare providers. The premiums for the coverage vary based on which plan you select, who in your family you cover, your hire date, and your job.
When you enroll for medical coverage, you are automatically enrolled for prescription drug coverage through CVS/Caremark. The copayments range from $0 to $40 for up to a 30-day supply of non-maintenance drugs or 90-day supply of maintenance drugs.

Full-time employees who work year round receive between 1-1/2 and 3 days each year of paid time for personal reasons.
Our full-time, year round employees have 15 paid sick days each year that accrue if they don't use them for use in future years. Additionally, paid sick time can be used when you are caring for a sick or injured family member.
