Among the benefits provided for you as a State employee is the mandatory membership in one of the State’s defined retirement plans. Please be advised that you are required to make a retirement election on or before your first day of employment; and that the election you make is irrevocable. Information regarding the available retirement plans including a comprehensive comparison of the State Employee Retirement Plans is available on the Office of the State Comptroller’s Website available from the links on this page. If you fail to make an election for a designated State retirement plan on or before your first day of employment you will automatically be defaulted to a Plan as identified on the Retirement Services Division Memorandum.
